Environmental Sustainable Design

This module introduces us to environmental issues and the complexities that design and construction professions have to deal with to contain irreversible damage that human settlement causes to the environment.

PROJECT 1 : GREEN-GO 2013 INTERNATIONAL SHORT
                         FILM CONTEST

Environmental issues have become a great concern for mankind at present time as these issues are affecting and will affect earth and us badly. As such, there are quite a number of environmentalists or movement either government or non-governmental trying and fight the injustice human commit towards earth.

As part of that initiative this project, intends to encourage us to do our part by producing short films that reflects these concerns and to part of the change for a better world and be on the big screen with our creative thoughts.

Objectives of this assignment:

1. To increase awareness of current environmental issues locally and globally.
2. To explore the local and global context of growth and therefore realising the relationship between growth and its impact on the environment.

For this project, it is an eye-opener for me because I have done research on the causes of plastic on the environment. The problem of waste globally or locally has made our earth sick because plastic could not digest. These assignment made me realise how important is it for us to keep the earth clean and healthy.  Besides that, I aware that it is also my responsible to spread the news to everyone to conserve our earth well so that human and flora and fauna can live happily together.

The following is my work for this assignment :

We are required to make a short film on Green Environment; thus the title I have chosen is 'Life in plastic, it's fantastic?'

This video sums up everything I understand about plastic.

Learning outcomes of this project :

1. Recognise the effect of growth on the environment.
2. Explore the concept of environmental and ecological sustainability.
3. Exemplify creativity in attempting to explore the current environmental circumstances.
4. Recognise role and responsibility of an architect towards environment and society.
